Built in 1927, the University Temple United Methodist Church is one of the University District’s most notable historic structures. In 2016, Point32 was asked to lead a feasibility study for the building’s restoration, to support the Church’s continued ministry and the social service programs housed within the current facilities. As the result of a neighborhood rezone recently approved by the City of Seattle, the sale of an adjoining parcel was identified as a possible fund source for the restoration project. Working with a local design and engineering team, Point32 developed a seismic stabilization plan and interior restoration concept that will be considered by the Church in the coming year.
