McGilvra Place Park

Seattle, Washington

  • As a complement to the Bullitt Center, Point32 envisioned and oversaw the transformation of a forlorn traffic island into a new neighborhood part and demonstration site for sustainable landscape design and construction. Working together with the city of Seattle, the Seattle Parks Foundation, and philanthropic donors, the park now features native plantings, accessible pathways, seating from reclaimed forest trees and a ping-pong table. Point32 successfully advocated for the closure of a city street as a demonstration site for graywater infiltration and to expand neighborhood green space. McGilvra Place is the first park project in the world to receive Living Building certification.
